New Yangzi Shipbuilding Delivers a 3500 TEU Container Ship

On May 24th, New Yangzi Shipbuilding under Yangzijiang Shipbuilding delivered the 10th 3500 TEU container ship “MAERSK YELLOWSTONE” to Japan LEPTA ship owner.

The container ship started construction at the end of June 2023, launchedin late March 2024 and completed its sea trials in early May. There are ten container ships in this series, and “MAERSK YELLOWSTONE” is the final unit in the series, which was delivered by electric signature.

This series of container ships are 200 meters in length overall and 36.4 meters in beam, and are classed by ABS. It can meet the requirements of IMO and the latest international conventions in environmental protection and low carbon.

On the basis of lowering main engine power, reducing emissions and meeting the requirements of desulfurization and nitrogen reduction and EEDI Ⅲ, the container ship has enhanced the economy of ship operation through a series of combined energy-saving means including energy-saving design and means to further reduce power consumption.

It is equipped with Kringle Crane to meet the loading and unloading requirements of some special ports. Furthermore, no part of the Kringle Crane obstructs the loading and unloading operation, which enhances its competitiveness in the same type of ship.

It is understood that this series of the 10 container ships are all built by new Yangzi Shipbuilding, and the first ship started construction at the beginning of December 2021, and has been delivered from the end of November 2022 onwards.
