Chengxi Shipyard Delivers First 88,800 DWT Bulk Carrier Ahead of Schedule

On May 23rd, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard delivered the first 88,800 DWT bulk carrier to CINER Company 68 days ahead of schedule, and the new shipbuilding was named “CARDIFF”.

It is understood that 88,800 DWT bulk carrier is another main construction ship type independently researched, developed and optimized by Chengxi Shipyard on the basis of 85,000 DWT bulk carrier.

Classed by ABS, the bulk carrier has an overall length of 228.90 meters and a beam of 37.00 meters with a design speed of 14.00KN.

This series of bulk carriers has been deeply optimized with the basic design concepts of simplicity, high efficiency and light weight.

Its economic performance indexes such as rapidity, fuel consumption and cabin capacity have reached the advanced or leading level among similar ship types.

Moreover, it meets the IMO Phase 3 EEDI requirements without additional energy-saving devices, making it a new generation of green ship.
