On May 20, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) held a steel cutting ceremony for the first 40,000 m3 LPG/liquid ammonia carrier build for Avance Gas Company.
As a new generation of MGC carriers, this series of LPG/liquid ammonia carriers adopts MAN’s green dual-fuel main engine, with a design speed of 16 knots.
Classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR), its speed and fuel consumption have reached the leading level in the world, and it meets the latest emission requirements of IMO’s EEDI Phase III and Tier III.
It is reported that the three IMO Type A independent fully-cooled cargo holds of this series of LPG carriers have started construction in February this year. The cargo holds are constructed with low-temperature carbon-manganese steel, which can effectively save space, improve economic performance and reduce operational pollution emissions and greenhouse gas emissions.
Over the years, CIMC SOE has been deeply cultivating the full spectrum of small and medium liquefied gas carriers and LNG bunkering vessels, accumulating rich experience and technical strength. Its products have covered all kinds of liquefied gas carriers and LNG bunkering vessels such as LPG, ethane, ethylene, LNG, liquid ammonia, etc., providing diversified choices for domestic and foreign customers.
