COOEC Signs EFA with Shell

On May 20, Hilary Mercer, Shell EVP Projects & Engineering, and the delegation visited COOEC. Wang Zhangling, Chairman of COOEC, met with the visitors. In the presence of Hilary Mercer and Wang Zhangling, Paul van Weert, Shell VP, and Zhang Haitao, COOEC VP, signed the EFA (5-year + 2-year) on behalf of the two sides, further deepening the extensive cooperation between the two sides in O&G development, new energy, digital intelligence, green supply chain and other fields.

The Enterprise Framework Agreement (EFA) is an important cooperation model for Shell to manage their global strategic suppliers. COOEC has a long history of cooperation with Shell. In 2013, COOEC became the first supplier in the world to sign a 10-year EFA with Shell. In recent years, COOEC has successfully delivered a series of major engineering projects such as LNG Canada and Penguins FPSO to Shell, which has been highly recognized by Shell.

COOEC’s performance in safety management, quality control, project execution and other aspects are highly recognized by Hilary Mercer who also expressed her sincere appreciation for COOEC’s outstanding contributions in the delivered projects. She said that COOEC has significant competitive advantages in large manufacturing yards, professional offshore fleets, engineering standardization, high-quality delivery capabilities and other aspects, which could meet Shell’s needs. She hoped that the two sides can further establish a deeper and broader strategic partnership of cooperation, promoting all-round cooperation in fields ranging from fabrication, offshore installation to subsea construction.

Wang Zhangling pointed out that the two sides have established a deep and solid partnership on the road of common development for a long time. The signing of the new EFA and the inclusion of COOEC Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base in the scope of the agreement on the basis of the continuation of the original agreement demonstrates Shell’s full trust in and high recognition of COOEC, and marks the opening of a brand-new chapter of cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Wang Zhangling extended a warm welcome to Ms. Hilary Mercer and her delegation. He pointed out that for a long time, COOEC and Shell have established a deep and solid partnership of development. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of cooperation, the two sides signed a new EFA, further included Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base into the agreement, showing Shell’s full trust and high recognition of COOEC, marking the opening of a new chapter of cooperation between the two sides. COOEC will give full play to its advantages in EPCI’s whole industry chain, engineering standardization and intelligent manufacturing, provide Shell with better engineering and services, further establish a closer and comprehensive strategic partnership with Shell, and promote mutual benefit and common development.

During the visit, Hilary Mercer and her delegation visited the Digital Simulation Center of COOEC Design Company and Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base. Hilary Mercer spoke highly of achievements in intelligent manufacturing and digital applications, and was full of expectations for the future digital transformation of the oil and gas industry. The two sides exchanged views on the adoption of intelligent manufacturing to improve production efficiency.
