Wuhu Shipyard wraps up 7800 DWT dual-fuel multi-purpose vessel series

Recently, Wuhu Shipyard formally delivered the third 7,800 DWT multi-purpose (MPP) vessel built for the Finnish shipowner Langh Ship Oy Ab, thus, Wuhu Shipyard has successfully completed the construction whole series of MPP vessels.

Classed by DNVGL and flying the Portuguese flag, the MPP vessel features an unlimited navigation area. As an ice-strengthened vessel, it is single propeller-driven and serves all the world’s maritime zones.

The vessel is designed with a double-hull structure with a continuous deck, lifting-off hatch covers, and grain walls to accommodate diverse transportation needs. The propulsion machinery is located in the stern, while the superstructure is located in the stern, providing the vessel with good navigational performance and ease of operation.

In terms of power system, the main engine is designed to be fueled by LNG (DF) and is compatible with light fuel oil and marine light diesel. The engine can meet IMO Tier II emission standards in fuel mode and the more stringent Tier III emission requirements in gas mode. Auxiliary engines also meet IMO Tier II emission standards when using marine light diesel and light fuel oil, and comply with Tier III emission requirements in SCR mode.

The propulsion system consists of one set of medium-speed diesel engine, one set of gear meshing system, one set of adjustable propeller, one set of bow thruster and one set of shaft generator, and the total power is up to 660 KW. In addition, the vessel is equipped with two 500KW main generators and one 120KW harbor emergency generator to ensure power supply and emergency needs, showing the excellent quality of the vessel in design and performance.
