CIMC SOE took effect with option order for 2 LPG/Liquid Ammonia carriers

Recently, an option order for two 40,000m3 LPG/Liquid Ammonia carriers signed between Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) and a European shipowner has been announced to take effect, which marks that CIMC SOE’s strength in designing and constructing Liquid Ammonia carriers has been fully recognized by the shipowner.

The two parties signed the order for 2+2 40,000 m3 LPG/Liquid Ammonia Carriers in March this year. There are 2 LPG/Liquid Ammonia carriers included in the option order, which are of the same type as the four 40,000 m³ LPG/Liquid Ammonia carriers currently under construction by CIMC SOE, and are expected to be completed and delivered in 2028.

As a new generation of medium-sized LPG carriers, it adopts LPG dual-fuel propulsion and is equipped with MAN’s high-pressure LPG dual-fuel main engine, which effectively reduces operational pollution emissions and greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition, this LPG carriers is equipped with three IMO Type A cargo holds, which effectively saves space and improves the economic performance. Moreover, it can also carry a variety of liquefied gas cargoes, such as LPG, liquid ammonia, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) etc., which can satisfy the diversified needs of cargo exchange transportation.
