Jiangxin Shipbuilding delivered China’s first 1,000-ton class intelligent research vessel

May 19, Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding under Jiangxi Provincial Military Industrial Holding Group formally delivered China’s first intelligent research vessel classed with intelligent ship notation built for Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai) (hereinafter referred to as SML), which has filled the blank of this new intelligent ship field in China.

“Xiangzhou Yun” is a new intelligent vessel integrating intelligent navigation, remote control, intelligent integration and intelligent energy efficiency, with all-weather operation capability and autonomous navigation capability.

Measures 56.9 meters in overall length, 9.8 meters in breadth, the intelligent research vessel is propelled by twin-engine and twin-adjustable propellers with bow thrusters, and boasts good heading stability and maneuverability.

It navigates in distant sea areas with a maximum speed of not less than 15 knots, a range of not less than 1,200 nautical miles and a self-sustainability of 22 days.

“Xiangzhou Yun” is an intelligent platform customized for SML to carry out sea trials of marine intelligent equipment, and is a high-end intelligent vessel with pioneering and demonstrative features (Intelligent ship notation I,No,E,R1).

The detection accuracy of the sensing system is better than 95% within the range of 2.5 nautical miles. There is no false alarm or missing alarm target in 1 nautical mile, the detection accuracy is better than 99%, and the autonomous collision avoidance function is realized.

“Xiangzhou Yun” has an optimization time of less than 20 seconds for autonomous navigation systems for routes within 5,000 nautical miles, and can automatically avoid shorelines, islands and obstacles, as well as preset areas of high sea state.
