CPGC Awarded Main Engine Contract for 19 Bulk Carriers

On May 15, New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumec Marine, and CSSC Power (Group) Corporation (CPGC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), signed a contract for the main engines of 19 Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers in Shanghai.

The contracted main engines will be configured in Sumec Marine’s 3.0 version of Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers.

With a length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 18.80 meters, and a design speed of 13.5 knots, Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier is Sumida Shipbuilding’s own brand.

The bulk carrier incorporates advanced design concepts, optimizes hull line design, and significantly optimizes cargo capacity, speed, fuel consumption, etc. It meets IMO Tier III emission standards and EEDI Phase III standards, and also has energy efficiency management classification and smart ship notation.
