On May 15, Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding delivered “Greenenergy Ocean”, the first LNG carrier of China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s (CNOOC) medium and long-term FOB (Free On Board) resources supporting LNG carrier project (Phase I), which marks a new progress in China’s new large-scale lLNG carrier construction project.
It is reported that “Greenenergy Ocean” is invested by CNOOC and built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, which is the first LNG carrier of China’s largest LNG shipbuilding project. It completed its sea trial in March.
The main membrane of the cargo hold adopts the most advanced containment system in the world, and it was successfully reported with zero leakage, marking a historic leap in China’s LNG industry equipment.
With an overall length of 299 meters, a width of 46.4 meters and a depth of 26.25 meters, GreenEnergy Ocean has four cargo holds with a total capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. The LNG carried by Greenenergy Ocean will be stored in the cargo hold and vaporized to a capacity of 107 million cubic meters, equivalent to providing a month’s gas consumption for Shanghai households.
It is understood that GreenEnergy Ocean is the first vessel in China to adopt the latest generation of NO96 Super+ cargo containment system, the evaporation rate of which can reach 0.085%, providing a wider range of oil and gas balanced speed for low-carbon navigation.
Also, it is equipped with the world’s first oil-fired iCER (Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling) dual-fuel main engine, which is fitted with the latest ICER system and water treatment system to meet Tier III emission regulations in both oil and gas modes.
