On May 13th, Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment (JSHT) held a grand delivery and maiden voyage ceremony for the newly built 76,000 DWT bulk carrier “Guoyuan 701” built for Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group).
Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), “Guoyuan 701” measures 225 meters in length, 36.5 meters in beam and 18.8 meters in depth. By developing of various energy-saving technologies, its EEDI is more than 45% below the baseline, making it a competitive ship with advanced design, low carbon and environmental protection, and economic energy saving.
In addition, this bulk carrier adopts ship energy efficiency management system, including real-time monitoring and acquisition of the main energy-consuming equipments and fuel quantity in the tanks and oil cabinets. Meanwhile, it adopts high-power pump frequency conversion technology, combined with the ambient temperature changes automatically adjust the pump load, to achieve energy saving and emission reduction.
It is understood that in July 2023, Guohang Ocean Shipping signed contracts with JSHT for two 76,000DWT bulk carriers and 4+2+2 73,800DWT bulk carriers. As a leading private shipping company pioneering the development of green and smart ships, Guohang Ocean Shipping is subsequently expected to receive a new ship every 1-2 months.
With the successful delivery of the first of the planned 30 newly-built green ships, the shipping company will further enhance its comprehensive strength and competitive advantage in the market.
