On May 6, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding completed the whole lifting of the MARK Ⅲ containment system installation platform of the 23,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship (H1904A), which was constructed for the Duffy Group of France, creating the record of the largest lifting tonnage and scale of the installation platform of the containment system.
The weight of the enclosure system installation platform module is 300 tons and the width is more than 50 meters, therefore, the difficulty of the whole lifting has increased dramatically.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilders made sufficient preparations for the lifting, overcame technical problems, effectively solved the whole lifting problems, laying the foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
The project has significantly improved the module construction efficiency through process forwarding and parallel operations, shortening the lifting and perfecting cycle from 9 days to half a day. The integrity of the installation platform module of the ship has reached 100%, and it can be operated after being powered on board, creating convenient conditions for subsequent construction.
The installation platform of LNG liquid cargo containment system is the key process equipment for LNG carrier construction, and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding is the only shipbuilder in China that has the capability to design and build the installation platform of both Type NO.96 and MARK Ⅲ containment system.
The successful completion of this lifting work further highlights the company’s strong strength in the field of LNG core technology.
