CHIT obtained AIP certificates for its marine product

In recent years, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Technology (Weihai) (CHIT), a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Group, has followed the pace of global greenhouse gas emission reduction and actively developed highly efficient shipboard carbon capture systems.

After obtaining the approval in principle(AIP) certificate for marine products, CHIT has developed an industry-leading onboard carbon capture system by continuously optimizing and innovating the onboard super gravity carbon capture system.

From May 8 to 10, the first set of methanol fuel monitoring, control and safety system for 16,000 TEU large container ships independently developed, designed and produced by CHIT successfully passed the factory inspection by ABS, CCS and ship owners and shipyards.

The system integrates the functions of methanol fuel refilling and delivery, fuel tank status monitoring, ventilation monitoring, inert gas monitoring, combustible gas detection, liquid leakage detection, shore connection, emergency shutdown, etc.

The functions of real-time monitoring, abnormal alarm, data recording, remote monitoring and safety protection that the system possesses ensure the safety and reliability of the system operation, and provide a stable and reliable solution for the clean fuel supply control system of large ships.

During the acceptance process, the performance of the control system showed stable and excellent performance, which was fully affirmed and recognized by two major classification societies, ABS and CCS, as well as the customer.
