Ningbo Ocean Shipping’s four 1,000 TEU hatchless container ships set to build

On May 9, the construction of the remaining four container ships in the project of 4+4 1000 TEU hatchless container ships of Ningbo Ocean Shipping officially started in Zhejiang Taizhou Jianxing Heavy Industry.

It is reported that the 1000TEU series hatchless container ship has a length of 136.1 meters, a beam of 25 meters, a depth of 12.5 meters and a design draught of 8 meters. Adopting a twin-engine, twin-propeller design, the ship has a design speed of about 12.7 knots with a gross deadweight of 15,000 tons.

According to the construction plan, the first 4 units of this series container ships have commenced construction at the end of 2023, and the first ship is scheduled to be delivered in March 2025.

After delivery, the container ship will mainly serve the domestic coastal and Yangtze River routes.
