WS Receives New Order for Two 25,900DWT Stainless Steel Chemical Carriers

On May 9, Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co.,Ltd (WS), an affiliate of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), signed a contract for the construction of two 25,900DWT stainless steel chemical tankers with Xingtong Walrus Shipping and Xingtong Seahorse, which are subsidiaries of Xingtong Shipping.

Classified by China Classification Society (CCS), the 25,900DWT stainless steel chemical tankers has a length of 158.98 meters, a beam of 27.00 meters and a depth of 14.20 meters, with a capacity of 29,500 m³.

Designed for a speed of 14 knots, it is equipped with a MAN 5S50ME-C9.7-EcoEGR main engine, which meets EEDI Phase 3 requirements. The main engine and generator set are equipped with SCR system, meeting IMO Tier III requirements for emissions.

In terms of intelligence and automation, this series of chemical tankers is equipped with intelligent navigation, intelligent cabin, intelligent energy efficiency and intelligent information integration platform, achieving comprehensive intelligence in ship operation. These advanced technologies not only improve the operational efficiency and safety of the chemical tankers, but also greatly reduce energy consumption and emissions.

At the signing ceremony, Jiang Tao, Chairman of WS, said that WS has been deeply cultivating the oil tanker market in recent years, and has built and delivered a series of small and medium-sized oil tankers for domestic and foreign customers, and has gradually made oil tankers one of the company’s main ship types.

Mr. Chen Qilong, General Manager of Xingtong Shipping, said that the two parties had successfully signed two 25900DWT methanol dual-fuel stainless steel chemical tankers last year. This re-cooperation shows the high degree of recognition and trust from all parties.

Xingtong Shipping was founded in December 1997 and mainly engaged in overseas shipping of bulk liquid dangerous cargoes.

After years of growth, the Company has become a leading enterprise in the domestic coastal bulk liquid chemical shipping industry, occupying a prominent position in the market segment. Currently, the Company controls a total of 41 bulk liquid chemical tankers, product oil tankers and LPG carriers, with a total capacity of 499,000 DWT. Of these, 31 are domestic vessels with a combined capacity of 331,700 DWT, and 10 are international vessels with a combined capacity of 166,300 DWT.
