Chengxi Shipyard Delivers 63,500 DWT Bulk Carrier “OCEAN ELEGANCE” Ahead of Schedule

On May 8, Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), delivered the sixth 63,500 DWT bulk carrier OCEAN ELEGANCE to Huaxia Financial Leasing, 145 days ahead of schedule.

It is reported that OCEAN ELEGANCE is the upgraded version of Dolphin 64,000 DWT bulk carrier, which has been further optimized in structure and ship line, and the rapidity and wave resistance have been significantly improved, which meets the third phase of the ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) standard.

Classed by LR, OCEAN ELEGANCE has an overall length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a design draft of 13.50 meters with a service speed of 13.50 knots. Equipped with swirl elimination fins and front guide wheel energy saving device, the bulk carrier features lower fuel consumption and is more energy saving and environment friendly.

It is worth mentioning that OCEAN ELEGANCE started construction on August 15, 2023, launched on March 16, 2024, set sail for sea trials on April 26, and delivered on May 8. It completed the mooring test in only 41 days, setting a new record for mooring period.
