Recently, the first PCHE engineering prototype for FSRU in China has passed the assessment by experts from 15 institutions such as CNOOC Gas & Power, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and China Classification Society(CSS).
FSRU is a kind of special equipment integrating LNG receiving, storage, transport, regasification and export, etc., among which the regasification system module vaporizer is one of the core equipment of FSRU system.
Large Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) carriers and LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Unit Units (FSRUs) are regarded as the core engineering equipment of the offshore LNG industry chain, and are also known as the “crown jewels” of the world’s shipbuilding industry.
Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute, together with CNOOC Gas & Power Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, Hefei General Machinery Research Institute Co., LTD., Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., LTD., and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, jointly undertake the development of the printed circuit board heat exchanger for LNG regasification module.
After three years of hard work, the project team has successfully developed the PCHE type LNG vaporizer with a gasification capacity of 180t/h, the highest in China. Compared with the traditional LNG open rack vaporizer (ORV), the size has been reduced by more than 90%, which is of an obvious advantage.
At present, Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute is developing several types of PCHE around the LNG industry chain, and has achieved the full product coverage. In the field of LNG green ship, the PCHE vaporizer for LNG gas supply system (FGSS) has been successfully developed; in the field of LNG-FSRU: the PCHE-type BOG cooler has been launched.
