SMDERI received a batch order for methanol fuel liquid supply units

Recently, CSSC Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research institute (SMDERI) won the order of methanol fuel supply units for 8 new 16000TEU methanol dual-fuel container ships from Imabari Shipbuilding of Japan, which is another major breakthrough after the VLCC methanol dual-fuel ship supply system.

SMDERI’s self-developed integrated methanol fuel supply system is designed based on the characteristics of methanol dual-fuel machines and can provide stable fuel supply for several engine terminals.

In this project, the liquid supply unit, as the core component of the system, will provide methanol fuel for one methanol dual-fuel main engine and four methanol dual-fuel generators simultaneously, with perfect functions, convenient operation, high reliability and maintainability.

This collaboration is an important step for SMDERI and Imaji Shipbuilding to join hands in the green transformation of shipping and empower the high-quality development of the industry.

As one of the earliest enterprises in the field of Marine environmental protection equipment in China, SMDERI has rich experience in the development and design of clean fuel supply system and a professional technical team. In addition to methanol fuel supply system, its LNG gas supply system, LNG cryogenic reliquefaction unit and other products have also been highly recognized by customers.
