New Dayang Shipbuilding Receives Order for Two 64,000 DWT Bulk Carriers from UME

United Marine Egypt (UME) has commissioned New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumida Marine, to build two 64,000 dwt bulk carriers, with the delivery due in 2027, according to Trade Winds.

The report says that UME is officially entering the bulk carrier sector with this order. The Cairo-based shipowner already owns a range of ferries and is also a charterer of bulk carriers.

A few days ago, Japan’s Kasuga Shipping ordered one additional Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier from New Dayang Shipbuilding, and the formal contract will be finalized and signed in China.

As early as January this year, New Dayang Shipbuilding has successfully signed a newbuilding contract with Kasuga Shipping for two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers, kicking off Sumida Marine’s entry into the Japanese shipbuilding market.
