GWD officially put into operation its first large crane

On April 30, Guangzhou Wenchong Dockyard Co., Ltd.(GWD), a subsidiary of Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI), held a delivery ceremony for 400 tons of gantry crane, marking the official putting into operation of its first large crane.

The delivered 400t gantry crane is a double main girder, medium-large tonnage, large span gantry crane. The total weight of the crane is about 2520 tons, the rated lifting capacity is 150t×2 for the upper trolley and 250t/50t for the lower trolley, with a gauge of 150m, and a lifting height of 80m on the rail and 13.3m under the rail.

The gantry crane project took only eight months from the start of construction to delivery.

After put into operation, the gantry crane will significantly enhance GWD’s capacity and production efficiency, providing important support for the integration of GSI’s shipbuilding and ship repair and promoting the structural transformation and development of GWD ship repairing.
