Recently, at the Sea Japan International Maritime Exhibition and conference, Sumida Marine and Kasuga Shipping held an initialling ceremony for the new shipbuilding contract of one Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier. This is the second time for Sumida Marine to sign a contract with this ship owner in this year.

As early as January this year, New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumida Marine, has successfully signed a newbuilding contract with Kasuga Shipping for two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers, which kicked off the prelude of Sumida Marine’s entry into the Japanese shipbuilding market.

On the signing day, the president and executive director of Kasuga Shipping visited New Dayang factory and boarded a bulk carrier under construction, Crown 63 PLUS, for a comprehensive inspection. They were both very satisfied with the shipbuilding quality of New Dayang and expressed their willingness to build an additional bulk carrier of the same type in Sumida Marine.

Recently, He Jun, Sumida Marine’s Chairman, was invited to visit Japan to finalize the details of the contract and hold a contract initialing ceremony. The formal contract for the project will be finalized in China after He Jun and his team return to China.
