CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping takes delivery of two vessels in parallel

On April 29, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding held a naming and delivery ceremony for “CA SHANGHAI”, the first of four 1,600 TEU container ships ordered by CA SHIPPING, a company controlled by CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited (CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping).

CA SHIPPING, a feeder container shipping company invested by CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping, has inked for two batches of feeder container ships in Huangpu Wenchong, a subsidiary of CSSC Group, i.e., 4 x 1,100 TEU and 4 x 1,600 TEU container ships, which are the most typical mainstay vessels in the regional trade in Asia.

Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), the 1,600TEU container ship is suitable for medium and long routes in Asia, featuring wider coverage, high economy, good market adaptability etc.

On the same day, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) held a naming and delivery ceremony for MSC QUITTERIE, the fifth unit of the 16,000 TEU container ships constructed for CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping’s operating charter cooperation with MSC.

The 16,000 TEU container ship for MSC is a good model of CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping’s assistance to the shipyards of CSSC in advancing to high-tech and high value-added ship types.

Designed by Marine Design & Research Institute of China (MARIC), it is the main ship type serving Asia-Europe trade. This 16,000 TEU container ship has excellent performance and advanced energy efficiency index, which is of great significance to the future development of CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping.
