Imabari Shipbuilding Delivers the 5,800 containership OOCL VERACRUZ

On April 26, Imabari Shipbuilding delivered the 5,800 containership OOCL VERACRUZ, which was built in Hiroshima Shipyard.

With a total length of 254.94m and a width of 40.00m, this containership is a container carrier having the capacity equivalent to 5,920 TEUs, equipped with lashing bridges with three-tiers at maximum on deck.She can stow a large number of refrigerated containers in hold/on deck, and can load the dangerous goods designated by the IMDG Code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code).

In order to comply with NOx Tier III regulation for the air pollution prevention, this vessel is equipped with the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) for main engine and also equipped with the select catalyst reduction system (SCR) for generator engines.

She achieves high propulsion performance by applying the energy-saving devices, high efficiency propeller and low friction paint for outer hull plating, and her EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) greatly surpasses the rule requirement. She also has the ballast water treatment system and the Inventory of Hazardous Material as for the Ship Recycling Convention.
