COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Shanghai) hosts Digang Shipyard

In accordance with the deployment requirements of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry on the hosting of Digang Shipyard, on April 23rd, China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. Digang Shipyard held a meeting with the cadres and employees. Mr. Guo Xiaodong, Executive Director, Secretary of Party Committee and General Manager of Shanghai COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, Mr. Gao Huorong, Deputy General Manager and heads of relevant functional departments attended the meeting and communicated on the related work of hosting.

According to public information, China Shipping Industry’s Digang Shipyard is located in Digang Town, Fanchang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, which was put into operation in 1979, and can undertake the repair of 10,000-ton ships and the construction of all kinds of steel ships below 1,500-ton class.

Digang Shipyard owns four 10,000-ton berths, equipped with a lifting capacity of 4,720 tons, two 6,500-ton floating dock, which was the largest floating dock in Anhui at that time.

According to the official website of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., LTD., Digang Shipyard was owned by China Shipping Industry Co., Ltd. in 1997; In 2016, it was owned by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., LTD. In February 2021, China Postal Corporation Anhui Branch won the bid and obtained the 5-year operation right of Digang Shipyard’s wharf and factory area. This is of great significance to the survival and development of Digang Shipyard and the preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets.
