Junzheng Group ordered 5+5 25,900 dwt chemical tankers in CMJL Yangzhou

On April 26, Inner Mongolia Junzheng Energy & Chemical Group Co., Ltd. (Junzheng ) released the Announcement on the Investment in the Construction of Chemical Tankers by the Company’s Wholly-Owned Subsidiary.

The announcement disclosed that on April 25, SC International FZE, an overseas wholly-owned subsidiary of Junzheng Group, entered into a contract for the construction of 5 chemical tankers of 25,900 DWT with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co., Ltd.(CMJL Yangzhou) Also, Junzheng retains the option to place an order for no more than five chemical tankers of the same type.

The total price of the chemical tanker including tax will not exceed RMB 3.2 billion (the amount is a preliminary estimate, and the final amount will be based on the actual construction amount), and the new shipbuildings will be completed and delivered one after another in 2-4 years. The new shipbuildings will be classified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and will fly the Hong Kong flag.

According to Junzheng Group, the investment in the construction of chemical tankers can further optimize the company’s fleet structure and expand the fleet size, which is conducive to the expansion of the company’s market share and the enhancement of the company’s operational capability and market competitiveness. Also, it helps Junzheng Group to be able to better respond to customer needs and provide better transportation services.

As early as 2022, Shanghai Junzheng Logistics Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Junzheng Group, has placed an order for two 25,900 DWT chemical tankers in CMJL Yangzhou.

Designed by Shanghai ODL Marine Engineering Co., Ltd, the chemical tanker is a double-bottomed, double-hulled chemical tanker with an overall length of 157.99 meters, a breadth of 27 meters and a service speed of 14 knots. The chemical tanker can meet Tier III and EEDI III specifications, which is a new generation of green, environmentally friendly and energy-saving ship type.
