Hengli Heavy Industries Wins Order for Four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers from Ciner Shipping

Turkish shipping company Ciner Shipping has signed a contract with Hengli Heavy Industries for the construction of four 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers, which are expected to be delivered between the end of March and the end of September 2027, according to foreign media reports. The new shipbuildings will be equipped with scrubbers. And shipbuilding industry sources have revealed that each bulk carrier will cost around $38 million, with a total order value of around $152 million ( about RMB 1.1 billion).

This is the second new shipbuilding order disclosed by Hengli Heavy Industries this year. News of the Hengli Heavy Industries’ first order in this year was reported in February, when Sea Traders, a bulk carrier shipping company owned by Greek shipowner George Procopiou, placed an additional order for four 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers, increasing its bulk carrier order book at the shipyard to 14 units. The cooperation between Hengli Heavy Industries and Sea Traders began in July 2023, when the two parties signed a contract for the construction of 10 82,000 dwt bulk carriers, which set a new record for Hengli Heavy Industries to sign the largest shipbuilding order at one time.

It is worth mentioning that Hengli Heavy Industries is the fourth Chinese shipyard that Ciner Shipping has placed an order. Previously, Ciner Shipping has placed orders for more than 20 new vessels in New Dayang Shipbuilding, Jiangmen Nanyang Shipbuilding and CSSC Chengxi Shipyard.
