ZPMC Delivers 5,000-Ton self-propelled full-rotation floating crane vessel “Zhongtian39”

On April 18th, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (Group) Co. (ZPMC) held a naming and delivery ceremony of 5000-ton self-propelled full-rotation floating crane vessel “Zhongtian 39”, which is the leading vessel in China and first-class vessel in the world, built for Liyang Marine Engineering Co.

“Zhongtian 39” measures 215 meters in length, 51.8 meters in width and 19 meters in depth, with a design load of 15 tons per square meter on the deck and an area of about 4,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of 10 basketball courts. A large offshore crane with lifting capacity of 5,000 tons for fixed stern crane and 3,500 tons for full slewing crane is set on the stern of the vessel. The outstanding lifting capacity makes it a leader in the field of offshore wind power pile foundation construction, large-scale booster station lifting, large-scale offshore component installation and deep-sea wind farm construction.

“Zhongtian 39” also boasts the ability to carry out various forms of foundation construction for large offshore wind turbines with a single capacity of 15 MW and above. It is a specialized wind power construction vessel integrating a series of processes such as port loading, sea transportation, lifting and piling. Also, it is capable of operating offshore oil platforms, construction of large bridges across the sea, lifting of large structures, and salvage of extra-large shipwrecks and sediments, resulting in a very broad market application prospect.

It is reported that “Zhongtian 39” is another “national heavy weapon” delivered by ZPMC in recent years. Once in operation, it will contribute to the development of China’s offshore clean energy, practice the strategy of ocean power and advance into the deep blue sea.
