Qingdao Shipyard christened a 6,000 TEU container ship

On April 17, a grand naming ceremony was held for the fourth 6000 TEU container ship built by Qingdao Shipyard Co., Ltd., formerly known as State-owned Qingdao Shipyard, in cooperation with CMB of Belgium. The new container ship was successfully named “CMA CGM BAIKAL”.

The first container ship of this series, CMA CGM MASAI MARA, the second container ship, CMA CGM KHAO SOK and the third container ship, CMA CGM ZINGARO, were delivered and put into operation in May, October last year and January this year respectively.

After the actual ship operation, this type of container ship has excellent economic and environmental performance, and has won the recognition and favor of shipowners in the international and domestic container transport market.

CMA CGM BAIKAL further summarizes the design and construction experience of the previous sequence of ships, continues to implement the optimization and innovation of work processes, further shortens the cycle of loading and assembling and terminal commissioning, and the ship’s operation quality has been significantly strengthened.

It is reported that 6000TEU container ship is a new generation of global feeder container ship.

At present, the orders in hand of Qingdao Shipyard have exceeded RMB 7 billion, and the scheduling has been up to 2027. The brand advantages of Qingdao Shipyard in the construction of small and medium-sized container ships and large bulk carriers have been gradually highlighted, and the competitiveness of the enterprise in the market has been continuously improved.
