On April 18th, MSC LORENZA, the sixth 16,000 TEU container ship built for MSC and SEASPAN by Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. under Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, was delivered and left the shipyard, and went on line for MSC fleet operation.
On April 9, a naming ceremony was held for the 16,000 TEU container ship, and on April 11, SEASPAN, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), CCB Financial Leasing and Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding signed the delivery documents for the MSC LORENZA.
MSC LORENZA measures approximately 366.0m in overall length, 355.4m between the two columns, 51m in beam, 30.2m in depth, 14.5m in design draft, 17.0m in structural draft, with a speed of 22 knots, and is capable of carrying a maximum of 16,616 TEUs . The construction of the ship was started in February 2023, and launched in mid-December of the same year.
It is understood that there are nine container ships of the same type in this series, and MSC LORENZA is the sixth unit in the series, which will be put into operation in MSC fleet after delivery.
