On April 15, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd.(DACKS) successfully christened the 64,000 dwt bulk carrier series “SPIKE” and “MEA MAR” for the Greek owner. And on April 16, the first bulk carrier of the series “SPIKE” was successfully delivered.
It is reported that this series of bulk carriers is the first order of the Greek shipowner company in DACKS. The 64,000 dwt bulk carrier series, as the main products of DACKS featuring the highest production efficiency and the best quality and performance, has become a star product in the new shipbuilding market.
The 64,000 dwt bulk carrier has a length of 199.9 meters, a breadth of 32.24 meters and a depth of 19.4 meters with a design speed of 15.6 knots.
It is further optimized on the basis of 58,000 dwt bulk carrier and 61,000 dwt bulk carrier designed and built by DACKS. It is an environmentally friendly bulk carrier that meets the EEDI Phase III requirements.
