On April 15, the third 15,500 TEU large container ship “One Future”, built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., was completed and delivered 1.5 months ahead of the contract schedule, which marks the successful conclusion of this series of container ships with high efficiency and high quality.
“One Future” is the second large container ship to be delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding within a week, following the April 9 naming and delivery of the 13,000 TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel-powered large container ship CMA CGM PARATY.
Meanwhile, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding also launched a 13,000 TEU dual-fuel-powered large-scale container ship and set sail for sea trials of a river-sea direct 14,000 m3 LNG refueling carrie.
In addition, on April 16th, the first production vessel of 174,000 m3 large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier of the third phase of COSCO SHIPPING PetroChina International LNG Transportation Project will be entering the dry-dock. So far, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has shown a spring shipbuilding boom.
“One Future” is developed, designed and built by Hudong-Zhonghua with full independent intellectual property rights and classed by DNV. The ship has an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters and a depth of 30.2 meters with a service speed of 22 knots. The capacity reaches 15,516 TEUs and it can load 1,400 cold boxes with 1,733 cold box sockets. The number of cargo hold and deck stacker layers reaches 22, and the height from the bottom of the ship to the superstructure is equivalent to a 24-story building, and it can navigate around the world without restriction.
The main engine and generator are equipped with the most advanced hybrid desulfurization device. Moreover, the main engine and generator are equipped with exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and nitrogen removal device (SCR) respectively, which significantly reduces the fuel consumption index compared with the same type of container ship, and achieves the best green performance of the conventional power vessels at present, and comprehensively meets the latest requirements of the IMO on the emission of NOx and SOx.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding vigorously promotes new techniques during the construction process, fully utilizes digital and information-based construction means, constantly breaks through production bottlenecks, and continues to improve quality and efficiency. The installation period of the service channel pipe system of the container ship is 20 days shorter than that of the same type of container ship, and the main engine oiling period is 50 days shorter than planned. Especially, the sea trial cycle is only 5 days, which is the shortest time among the same series of ships.
In the end, “One Future” was delivered 1.5 months ahead of schedule, which was highly praised by the owner. It is reported that the ship will be put into operation on April 16 on the Asia-Europe route.
