Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory’s first floating dynamic positioning aquaculture platform set to build

On April 8, Zhanjiang Bay No.1, a floating power positioning aquaculture platform independently researched and developed by Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory, was put into construction.

“Zhanjiang Bay No. 1” is a floating dynamic positioning aquaculture platform featuring semi-submersible aquaculture, autonomous navigation and platform avoidance, green energy supply, comfortable living conditions for personnel and intelligent system control. The total length of the platform is 154 meters, the width is 44 meters, the depth is 24.25 meters with a capacity of 80,000 m³ aquaculture water.

The platform integrates the technology of navigation power system and power control system, which can be used for floating aquaculture in the whole sea area and long-term mooring aquaculture in suitable water depth, fully utilizing the ocean space resources.

The frame structure of the platform is convenient for the efficient exchange of seawater and making full use of high-quality seawater resources in the deep and distant sea. The platform is divided for culture, and integrates feed storage and feeding, culture monitoring, net clothing cleaning, centralized control, remote control, material loading and unloading storage, and other culture test function systems, so that the whole system of fishery culture can be tested. It makes full use of clean energy such as wind and photovoltaic energy as a daily energy source for green farming.
