On April 1st , CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) delivered MV INTERASIA ACCELERATE to Danaos Corporation, one of the world’s largest independent owners of containerships, at DSIC’s affiliate, namely Shanhaiguan shipyard.
The 7100TEU container vessel is the first of two ‘SDARI Sealion 7100’ type sisters that DSIC has built in accordance with the latest requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in relation to Tier III emission standards and Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III. It will start her career under the chartering of Interasia Lines.
The ultra-compact vessel is 255.00 m long, 42.80 m (17 rows) wide with a design draft of 12.00 m. It is powered by an MAN B&W 6G80ME-C10.5-TIII-HPSCR main engine to reach the service speed of up to 20 knots.
The early delivery of this eco vessel not only solidifies Danaos’ position as one of the major containership players worldwide, but also strengthens further CSSC’s brand in global medium size container vessel market.
