Recently, Hangzhou Modern Ship Design Research Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Changjiang River Shipping Co., Ltd. signed a design contract for the development of 2+4 1,100 dwt extended-range electric bulk carriers.
Jialing River is the second largest tributary of the Yangtze River and is an important part of the economic circle of Chengdu-Chongqing area. Although the Jialing River waterway has been fully channelized, there are still many problems in some sections, such as complex channel conditions, shallow water depth in dry season, many bends and beaches, small turning radius, and many rapids and dangerous beaches.
Restricted by the channel conditions, the Jialing River navigation area is characterized by low ship propulsion efficiency, high fuel consumption, poor economy, serious pollution, poor ship beaching ability, poor maneuverability and low safety in the rapid section.
The ship has an overall length of 63.0m, a beam of 10.98m, a depth of 3.2m with a maximum deadweight of 1100t and a container capacity of 67TEU. The power system adopts electric propulsion technology, equipped with 3 sets of generator sets, two sets of lithium iron phosphate batteries and one set of photovoltaic solar panels to form a hybrid power system, allowing the bulk carrier to operate in pure electric mode.
The propulsion system adopts 2 sets of 400kW straight-wing rudder-propeller propulsion devices developed by Zhejiang Fengshen Ocean Engineering Technology Co., Ltd, and the speed of the bulk carrier can reach about 22km/h, with a maximum range of nearly 3,000km.
The 1100 dwt extended-range electric bulk carrier developed by Hangzhou Modern Ship Design Research is a major ship technology innovation project in Sichuan Province. The project can promote the Jialing River capacity structure to the excellent transformation, promote the green and high-quality development of water transportation in Sichuan Province and investment in the construction of new green new energy bulk carriers.
