On March 29th, a signing ceremony was held in Shanghai for a 4 product tanker/chemical tanker construction project between China State Shipbuilding Group (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited (Stock Code: 3877.HK, (CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping) and Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited (Seacon Shipping).
This tanker is a new generation of green and intelligent 50,000 dwt product tanker/chemical tanker independently researched and developed by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., whose performance indexes have reached the international leading position, meeting the T3 emission requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the third phase of the Ship Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) standard.
The product tanker/chemical has large cargo capacity and strong loading and unloading ability with 6 pairs of cargo tanks and 1 pair of sewage tanks, and it is equipped with independent cargo pipes and hydraulic submerged pumps, which can load 7 kinds of cargoes in parallel.
In addition, the lightweight design of the hull for the product tanker/chemical tanker is remarkable, and the empty weight and other indicators are leading in the world. Meanwhile, according to the future CII forecast provided by Seacon Shipping, the subject vessel will meet the requirements in the next 10 years. Therefore, the subject vessel type still has certain advantages in the control of carbon emission costs in the long run.
