Wanlonng Ship Heavy Industry Holds Steel Cutting Ceremony for 82,000DWT Series Bulk Carriers

On March 29th, Wanlong Ship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. held a steel cutting ceremony for WL2402/03/04/05, the first bulk carriers of 82,000DWT series to be built for Zhoulian Shipping (Ningbo) Co.

The series of 4 82,000DWT bulk carriers are expected to be delivered from mid 2025 to 2026. Designed by Shanghai ROJ Marine Engineering Corp., the bulk carriers measure 229.00m in length, 32.26m in breadth and 20.35m in depth.

As a Kamsarmax bulk carrier, its main engine is Mitsubishi 6UEC50LSH-Eco-C2 (Tier Ⅲ with LP-SCR), with a deadweight of 82,000 tons, a design draught of 12.20 meters and a design speed of 14.0 knots.

It is the mainstream bulk carrier ship type in the shipping market and meets the EEDI phase 3 requirements, featuring “green, environmental protection, energy saving and safety”.
