Nantong CIMC SOE delivered 3*4650m³ vertical LNG fuel tanks

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (Nantong CIMC SOE), a subsidiary of CIMC Enrico Holdings Limited (CIMC Enrico), has successfully shipped the first ship set of 3×4650 m3 world’s first large vertical ultra-high LNG bunker tanks built for AC-INOX GmbH (AC-INOX) of Germany, marking that CIMC Enrico has made a major breakthrough in the fuel tank business again.

The LNG fuel tank adopts double lug vertical design, with gas chamber and manhole on one side, and the structure height reaches 32 meters, which is the first ultra-high vertical double lug tank built by Nantong CIMC SOE, and it will be installed on the 3500TEU container ship of German shipowner Hartmann Company.

It is reported that the 3500TEU container ship is a car ro-ro ship, and the space on the deck and in the cargo hold of the ship is mainly used for loading cars with compact space. The design of fuel tanks with double lug vertical storage can release part of the capacity for the deck ro-ro area and longitudinal space in the cargo hold to maximize the loading capacity.

The successful delivery of the world’s first large vertical ultra-high LNG bunker tanks marks a major breakthrough for Nantong CIMC SOE in the business of ultra-high double lug vertical fuel tanks. The company has further accumulated experience in drawing design, production and construction, pressure test, tooling production, lifting and delivery, etc., which reflects the company’s concept of “courageous challenge, active innovation, customer service” in fuel tank manufacturing, and further deepens the cooperation with AC-INOX and Hartmann in the field of fuel tanks.
