Recently, Yu Chai Marine Power Co., LTD. (YMP) and Lianyungang Wuzhou Ship Heavy Industry Co. held a signing ceremony for the main engine purchase contracts of four 50,000 dwt oil tankers and three 114,000 dwt product tankers.
In 2023, Lianyungang Wuzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry chose Yuchai ship engines for its two 50,000 dwt MR oil tankers, opening the first cooperation between the two sides, and the project is now progressing steadily as scheduled.
After more than 10 years of experience, benefiting from the rare opportunity of the current round of ship market recovery, the development of both parties has entered the fast lane.
The 114,000 dwt product tanker project is the first time for Lianyungang Wuzhou Ship Heavy Industry to undertake a ship of more than 100,000 DWT, and the choice of Yuchai Shipbuilding once again is a full trust of YMP.
