CSSC Chengxi Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) christened the first 62,000 dwt multi-purpose heavy-lift ship

On March 26, CSSC Chengxi Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) held a naming ceremony for the first 62,000 dwt series of multi-purpose heavy-lift ships,which is built for COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. The godmother, Ms. Cha Yan, named the new ship “GUANG FU”.

“GUANG FU” has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, a depth of 19.3 meters and a full load draft of 13.5 meters. The ship is equipped with 5 cargo holds with large opening and box structure, the maximum length of the cargo hold is about 40 meters, and there are also two 150-ton Kring cranes and two 80-ton Kring cranes, which can flexibly load various sizes of heavy cargo and containers. Its large deadweight tonnage and box structure design are suitable for all kinds of general dry bulk cargo transportation.

Meanwhile, the energy efficiency index of 62,000 dwt multi-purpose heavy-lift ship meets the phase III standard, NOx meets the Tier III emission requirement, and meets the latest SOx emission requirement, which makes it an energy-saving and environmentally friendly green ship.

“GUANG FU” is the first of a series of 62,000 dwt multipurpose heavy lift ships to be built for COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, and in 2024-2025 CSSC Chengxi Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) will deliver another 15 ships of the same type.

It is reported that the first voyage of “Guangfu” ship will be put into the Southeast Asia route, the implementation of PowerChina HuaDong Engineering Corporation Limited (HDEC) Laos wind power project.
