On March 25, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, (SWS) a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), signed for the delivery of the fourth 7000 TEU container ship of the series, ONE RECOMMENDATION, built for Canada’s Seaspan Corporation. The naming of the ship was completed on March 21st.
“ONE RECOMMENDATION” is designed by SShanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). The ship measures 272 meters in overall length, 42.8 meters in beam, 24.6 meters in depth, 15 meters in design draft with a design speed of 21.0 kn. It is equipped with a MAN 6G80ME-C10.5 main engine, which meets TIER Ⅲ and EEDI Ⅲ specifications.
The 7000 TEU container ship adopts “S-BOW” line shape, and the hull line shape has been optimized through several rounds of comprehensive optimization according to the shipowner’s operating requirements. It is fitted with a low-energy main engine, a high-efficiency propeller, a full-suspension twisted rudder and an energy-saving conduit.
In addition, it is equipped with an energy-saving windshield at the bow, which greatly optimizes the fuel consumption performance, meets the requirements of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III as well as the NOx Tier III emission standards, and is fitted with a hybrid desulphurization device, making it a green and environmentally friendly container ship.
