On March 23rd, Mawei Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation, successfully started the construction of 7,500 ceu pure car and track carrier (PCTC) (hull No.XSI463I) for Sallaum Lines.
The 7,500 ceu PCTC has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a plumb line distance of 195.6 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters with a design draught of 8.65 meters and a maximum draught of 10 meters. The propulsion system is designed as single engine and single propeller, adopting LNG dual-fuel main engine, single bow side thrust, electric RORO system with 13 car decks in the cargo hold.
Classed by ABS,the PCTC is mainly used to transport all types of vehicles including heavy trucks and packaged dangerous goods and is capable of transporting new energy vehicles fueled by hydrogen and natural gas on decks 11, 12 and 13.
It is understood that this is the first cooperation between Sallaum Lines and Mawei Shipbuilding, and the XSI463I dual-fuel 7,500 ceu PCTC, which has started construction, is the first ship built by Sallaum Lines in China.
