Recently, Ayesu Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Imabari Shipbuilding, the largest shipbuilding group in Japan, successfully delivered a 40,000 dwt bulk carrier “TWIN DELIGHT”.
“TWIN DELIGHT” has an overall length of 182.93 meters, a breadth of 31.00 meters, a depth of 15.00 meters with a deadweight of 40,656 tons and a gross tonnage of 25,006 tons. It is equipped with a 6UEC42LSH-Eco-D3 main engine, has a speed of about 14.0 knots, is classified by Japan Classification Society (NK) and flies the Marshall flag.
“TWIN DELIGHT is an ocean-going bulk carrier having a double hull hold construction of box shape with topside tanks. She is designed to be suitable for loading a wide variety of cargoes, such as bulk cargoes, grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, long size steel, etc., and storage tanks on the top of the ship can also carry grains. Each cross deck is equipped with four cranes, and each cargo hold is equipped with a folding hatch cover that can be opened and closed from front to back, helping to save labor and space.
The 40,000 dwt bulk carrierhas various equipment and device for satisfying the environmental rule and regulation such as MARPOL convention, ballast water management convention, etc.The EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) not only satisfies the current requirement (Phase 2) but also Phase 3 required for ships built in and after 2025. She also has the ballast water treatment system and the Inventory of Hazardous Material as for the Ship Recycling Convention.
Also, it achieves high propulsion performance by applying the energy-saving devices, high efficiency propeller, low friction paint for outer hull plating.
