On March 20, Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, delivered the fifth 16,000 TEU container ship, “MSC ILARIA” to SEASPAN.
“MSC ILARIA” has an overall length of about 366.0m, a length of 355.4m between the two columns, a beam of 51m, a depth of 30.2m, a design draught of 14.5m, a structural draught of 17.0m, with a speed of 22 knots.
The new shipbuilding has 10 cargo holds, 1000 TEU (deck) + 400 TEU (cargo hold) and can carry up to 16,616 standard containers.
The container ship meets the development trend of ultra-large container ships in terms of environmental protection, energy saving and high efficiency.
The main engine of the container ship is equipped with EGR to meet Tier III emission standards. It is fitted with a desulphurization tower to meet sulfur emission requirements and is equipped with the world’s leading air dampening system.
