On March 20, Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully delivered the 1800 TEU container ship “SEATRADE CHILE” to the Dutch ship owner SEATRADE. “SEATRADE CHILE” is the first unit in a series of six 1800 TEU containers signed by both parties.
“SEATRADE CHILE” has an overall length of 172.00m, a beam of 28.4m, a depth of 14.2m, a design draft of 8.5m with a maximum load capacity of about 24,000t and a design speed of 18.7 knots. Equipped with high-efficiency propellers and energy-saving twisted rudders, it is an energy-saving and economic container ship with low energy consumption, high speed and high load factor.
Designed for regional, multiple ports of call, frequent loading and unloading of feeder container ship operation requirements, the container ship significantly improves the comprehensive economic performance of the ship. Also, it is equipped with SCR, desulphurization tower unit, 630 reefer containers, and later it will be equipped with AMP Medium Voltage Shore Power, deck crane etc.
At present, Huanghai Shipbuilding has built and delivered 22 series of 1,800 TEU container ships, and it is expected that the shipyard will deliver another 13 container ships in 2024.
