Recently, Bestway Marine & Energy Technology Co., Ltd., successfully won the bidding for the EPC general contracting project of Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhanjiang)‘s Deep-sea Aquaculture Net Container Public Test Service Platform (Zhanjiang Wan I), witha bid amount of RMB 166 million.
“Zhanjiang Wan I” aquaculture platform is the world’s first floating power positioning aquaculture platform independently researched and developed by Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhanjiang). The platform is a combination of column-stabilized truss platform and ship-type bow and stern for offshore aquaculture equipment.
The main structure is all-welded, with bow building, pilothouse, living building, stern building, upright-shaped bow and square-shaped stern.
This aquaculture platform is equipped with two full-swing rudder propellers at the stern and two lateral propellers at the bow, and adopts all-electric propulsion system, floating power positioning system and temporary mooring system.
The platform use floating power positioning system for in-situ aquaculture, and can use the platform propulsion system to transfer aquaculture or emergency platform avoidance when the environmental conditions do not meet the aquaculture conditions. It will be used mainly for experimental aquaculture of pelagic fish such as golden pomfret, octopus and tuna.
In recent years, Bestway Marine & Energy Technology has actively carried out research and development work related to deep-sea aquaculture nets, deep-sea aquaculture vessels and deep-sea aquaculture.
In December 2023, the project of “Hai Ta I”, a public test service platform for deep-sea aquaculture nets constructed by the company, was officially started at the base of Tongzhou Bay, realizing the breakthrough of the company’s design and construction of deep-sea aquaculture vessels from zero to one. And with the successful winning of the bidding for the EPC project of “Zhanjiang Wan I”, it has taken another important step forward in the design and construction of deep-sea aquaculture vessels.
Ocean is a strategic place for high-quality development, but also an important area for the formation of new productivity, “Zhanjiang Wan I” will break the constraints of the South China Sea fishery culture area by the depth of the water, leading the marine fishery aquaculture industry to the deep-sea.
