CMJL (Nanjing) kicks off construction of 9,000 CEU Methanol Reserved PCTC

On March 14th, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co. Ltd.(CMJL (Nanjing), a subsidiary of China Merchants Industry Group, officially started the construction of the first 9,000 CEU methanol reserved Pure Car and Track Carrier (PCTC)(hull No.: JLZ8230405) for SAIC Anji Logistics. It is expected that the PCTC will be delivered in early June 2025.

It is the first 9,000 CEU methanol reserved car carrier built for SAIC Anji Logistics, classed by DNV and CCS and designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI).

With an overall length of 228 meters, a beam of 37.8 meters, a depth of 15.4 meters, a design draft of 9.1 meters and a design speed of 18.3 knots, the PCTC adopts a methanol reserved propulsion system.

It is understood that the two parties signed a contract in May 2023 for the construction of four 9,000 CEU methanol reserved PCTCs.

At present, SAIC ANJI Logistics has built China’s largest self-owned fleet of automobile enterprises, with 31 various types of automobile vessels, and launched 7 international self-owned routes in Southeast Asia, Mexico, South America West and Europe.

In the next three years, a total of 14 PCTCs of 7,000 CEU, 7,600 CEU, 7,800 CEU and 9,000 CEU will be added to the SAIC Anji Logistics fleet.
