Jiangnan Shipbuilding held a steel-cutting ceremony for the First 14,000 TEU Container Ship in “Kun” Series

On March 15th, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), formally started the construction of the first container ship (H2789) of a series of 14,000TEU container ships for Booya International Shipping.

It is reported that the 14000TEU container ship which started construction belongs to the main construction products of Jiangnan Shipbuilding. Designed and developed by Jiangnan Research Institute, it is a new type of highly efficient, green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly ultra-large container ship.

The project was negotiated and signed in 2022 and is the first collaboration between Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Bal Container Line.

In recent years, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, focusing on the main product areas, adhering to the customer’s needs as the center, with high efficiency, green, energy saving and environmental protection as purpose, and with the concept of tightly coupling R&D, design and production, launched the self-developed ultra-large container ships, which are named as “Kun” series, with the logo of “KUN” in English.
