CMHI Haimen shipyard Holds Steel Cutting Ceremony for a 9,000CEU PCTC

On March 14th, China Merchants Heavy Industries Haimen shipyard (CMHI Haimen shipyard) held a steel cutting ceremony for the 9,000CEU PCTC # 1.

The 9,000CEU PCTC is understood to be a state of the art project designed for the transportation of automobiles and trucks. With a lane meter length of 6,290 meters, the PCTC has a standard car loading capacity of no less than 9,000 cars, as well as 768 standard 20-foot containers.

In terms of power system, PCTC is equipped with a single CPP and adopts diesel propulsion with ammonia-fueled design and structural preparation, demonstrating excellent environmental performance and economic benefits. It is also equipped with a series of energy-saving and environmental protection equipment or systems, such as desulfurization tower, solar panels, bubble drag reduction, PTO/PTI axle generator, batteries, low drag coatings, shore power, door rudders etc.

The application of these advanced technologies not only significantly improves the energy efficiency and environmental performance of the PCTC, but also further consolidates China Merchants Heavy Industries’ leading position in the field of green shipping.
