On March 7, Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. held a naming ceremony for an 82,000 dwt bulk carrier, which was named “Shanliang manao”.
Shanliang manao is the fourth in a series of five bulk carriers constructed by Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for this shipowner. It has an overall length of 229 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 20.35 meters, a structural draft of 14.5 meters and a design draft speed of 14 knots. It meets Tier Ⅲ emission requirements and can fulfill both old and new Panama Canal passage requirements.
As the fourth generation of Kamsarmax bulk carriers, this series of bulk carriers are advanced in design, low carbon and environmental protection, economical and energy-saving, and the performance indexes such as speed and fuel consumption have reached the world first-class level, which gives them a leading technological advantage in the market, and makes them one of the most competitive ship types in the current bulk carrier market.
It is reported that up to now, Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has named or delivered 15 82,000 dwt bulk carriers of this series to five well-known domestic and foreign shipowners, and plans to deliver one more new unit of the same type this month.
