China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) received order for four MPP vessels

On March 7, German shipping company dship Carriers said in its social media post that it has signed a contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) for the construction of four 15,000 dwt heavylift multi-purpose (MPP) vessels with an undisclosed order value.

The new vessels are expected to be delivered in 2025, helping to further reinforce the company’s commitment to driving positive change in the maritime industry.

With approximately 50 percent more cargo hold and deck capacity, the D500 vessels are to further enhance dship Carriers’ competitive edge and cater to evolving industry needs.

The D500 project represents a leap forward in innovation, emphasizing efficiency and performance. These vessels are expected to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.

It is understood that this is the third order that China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) has made public so far this year. The previous orders were for pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs).
