DNV Awards AIP For Intelligent Liquid Cargo Handling System

Recently, a Intelligent Liquid Cargo Handling System (CHS), self-developed by Qingdao SunRui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd. (SunRui), of chemical carriers has been awarded DNV Approval-in-Principle (AIP) certificate.

SunRui has developed the CHS for chemical transportation ships independently by continuously enriching the overall solution for green ships and carrying out research around key core technologies. The system can handle the whole process of loading, storage, transportation of liquefied gas cargoes such as LPG, NH3, VCM, etc. In the process of transportation, the system can liquefy the evaporated gas in the cargo hold, unload the cargo of different ship types, etc., which significantly improves the loading and unloading, transportation efficiency and safety of the chemical ship, and greatly improves the intelligent operation of ships.

During the certification period, DNV experts focused on the cargo manifold unit, cargo storage unit, deck tank unit, pressurization unit, BOG liquefaction treatment unit, cargo transfer monitoring system, security system and control system to carry out the technical principles of the audit, and ultimately confirmed that SunRui’ CHS in full compliance with the requirements of the classification society specifications.

CHS is another important breakthrough of SunRui in clean energy for ships after marine LNG gas supply system, marine methanol fuel supply system and marine ammonia fuel supply system, which further enriches the product system of the company.
